The latest news from Israel were about the prisoners exchange between the government and Hamas. The soldier Gilad Shalid will be reunited with his parents and in exchange, Hamas will receive almost 1000 Palestinian soldiers.
What an exchange, 1 for 1000. Well, we do not know what is what, but obviously the Israeli government really wants this man to come back to his home and it is ready to pay pretty high price for that.
So, why is that possible? Why in Israel they are ready to free 1000 just to release 1?
Well, the fact is very simple – Israel is just too small to afford to sacrifice even one soldier. On top of that, because of all the noise around mr. Shalid, the government does not have many opportunities but to make everything possible to free him.
So, if you call Israel and ask the people there about their opinion, you will understand pretty well why the government did what they did. Simply, the Jews are very strongly bonded community, which is hard to split. They help each other, share experience and etc. which clearly shows how strong the bonds between them are. Thanks to this and their religion, which may be similar things, these people survived as a nation for over 2000.
So, what you can do after these news?
Well, this can be a good lesson to anyone who Is ready to sacrifice his/her people in the name of something bigger. This story shows us that we have to be strong and do everything possible to protect our friends and relatives.
So, if you want to learn more about this wonderful story, make some cheap calls to Israel and talk with the people there. What do they think? Do they agree such an expensive exchange and if they do, why is that? These and many other questions can be asked, if you decide that the people's opinion is important. This is one more, additional point view, which undoubtedly is very useful.
