The future of the telecommunication is Internet. The VoIP technology is an evident sign of that. This technology allow its users to make cheap and sometimes even free calls not only to domestic but international numbers as well. Apple, a company which prides itself with the innovation and introduction of new technologies, also recognized the possibilities that VoIP offers to the users and integrated a service in their products called FaceTime.
FaceTime is a service available for most of the Apple products like Mac computers, iPhones and iPads. This feature allow Apple product users to quickly make a video call with any other user of Apple products around the world. So in a sense FaceTime can be used for making free international calls, provided that the person who receive the call also owns a Apple product that supports this service.
To use this service on your iPhone or any other Apple device, you simply need to create an Apple ID and register an e-mail address. That's it. After you have done that you can start making video calls with anyone using an Apple device. If the person that you want to contact doesn't use the service, then you can invite him/ her to start using it.
FaceTime can also turn your iPod Touch into a telecommunication tool. By connecting to internet with your iPod Touch you can turn that outdated device into a tool to call Greece or anywhere else provided that the person you want to contact also uses FaceTime on his/ her device. Of course, making any calls with FaceTime through iPad or iPod Touch wouldn't be possible if you don't have headset with a microphone.
Apple offer all of its users, not only those using iPhone, the chance to make easy and free video calls with the service FaceTime. The only requirement is that the person receiving the call also uses an Apple device which is connected to Internet.
