The City of Cork in Ireland

The city of Cork is considered as one of the most lovely tourist destinations in the Republic Ireland. The vibrant culture and landscape which are the main attractors of visitors. Across the city flows the beautiful Lee River which increases the city’s appeal even more. The city is full of attractions like churches, parks, monuments, museums, galleries etc. All over the city tourists can admire different sites which are numerous. 


The Irish Garden is one of the major landmarks of the city. Here tourists can see the amazing amalgamation of the architectural designs with the surrounding flora and fauna. Many consider the Irish Garden as the perfect combination of natural and manmade wonders. The park is encircled by a picturesque lake. The prime attraction of the park is the Crater. 

Another important site is the Glandore Union Hall. Near the Glandore Harbour tourist can visit two lovely villages. Here people can see the traditional Irish culture. Her is also the Mycross Woods – perfect place for relaxing walk. Amiong the other main attractions in Cork are the Drake’s Pool, the Millstreet Country Park, the Glengariff Dunworely, the Saint Ann’s Shandon Church Tower, the Collins Dairy Farm, the Shandon Bells and Myrtle Grov and of course the St. Finbarr's Cathedral. The cathedral is situated by the river Lee and a few minutes away from the Elizabeth Fort. This focal decoration of the cathedral is the golden angel that is located on top of the spire.
